Data access group is used to control data visibility between different groups of users. For example, groups of users from different institutions. When a project user is assigned to a DAG, that user can only see records that have been entered by that DAG’s member. Records entered by another DAG’s member will not be accessible or visible. For project users that need to see all project records, they should not be assigned to any DAG. For project users that need to access multiple DAG, they should first be assigned to a primary DAG. Using the DAG Switcher, multiple DAGs can be checked off under their name so that they can switch between different DAGs.
Accessing DAG
To access DAG, click on DAGs under the ‘Applications’ menu on the left.
Adding DAG
To add new DAG, enter the DAG name in the text box under ‘+ Create new groups’ and click ‘+ Add Group’.
Assigning DAG
To assign DAG, under ‘Assign user to a group’, use the dropdown list to select a user. Then use the dropdown list to select a DAG and click ‘Assign’ button.
DAG Switcher
To assign multiple DAG to a user, use the DAG Switcher to check off multiple DAGs under the user’s name. Please note that the user must be assigned to a primary DAG before the DAG Switcher can function.
Once the DAG Switcher has been setup, the user will see a blue banner at the top of the project page with a ‘Switch’ button. Click the switch button to switch to another DAG.
Deleting DAG
To delete a DAG, click the red ‘X’ in the DAG table for the corresponding DAG that you would like to delete. Please note that a DAG can only be deleted if there are no users assigned to it and if there are no records assigned to it.
